I’ll sum it up for you.
I came out as “in a relationship” with my girlfriend on facebook. I had already confided in a few close friends before then, but it took just under a year for me to be completely comfortable with being open and honest with my sexuality and my relationship. I dealt with some stupid shit on my mom’s side of the family, since they have these ridiculous religious reasons as to why it doesn’t make sense, but my dad’s side is very loving and supportive. I don’t think any of my step dad’s family knows.. anyways, my close friends were supportive, although a couple of them are still really uncomfortable and slightly homophobic. Some of my friends are great and actually came to a pride halloween dance with Julie & I :) I have dealt with some shit at school and such, but overall, I got it good now.
